Brand Focus: Isoacoustics

Since 2012, Canadian based Isoacoustics have been manufacturing and distributing isolation products for home audio and pro-audio use. Introducing their first product, the L8R-155 at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) trade show in 2012, the patented designs Isoacoustics have developed since then have been widely adopted by amateurs and professionals alike. The founder of Isoacoustics, Dave Morrison, was closely involved in planning and building radio and television studios for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for close to 20 years. He’s always seen speaker systems as “living entities” that require proper installation and upkeep to breathe and provide the most accurate sound reproduction possible. The same belief has led to the creation of some of the best isolation products on the market. If you’ve already invested a decent sum in your home audio equipment, it’s definitely worth paying attention to the myriad of ways you can improve performance with special attention going to the acoustics of your speakers and your space.

The Isoacoustics range is split into two categories: home audio and pro-audio. Each category has products designed specifically for their corresponding environments (home use and studio use) and this is evident from the special attention paid to the aesthetics of the isolation products in the home audio range and in contrast, the more utilitarian no-frills, hard-wearing aesthetic of the pro-audio range. With this in mind, here are some Isoacoustics products that can help you make the most of your home setup:

The Home Audio Range:

Aperta Series

Lasd The patented IsoAcoustics isolation stand Aperta, which means ‘open’ in Italian, allows for the full three-dimensional soundstage in your music. Speakers float, eliminating reflections from being conducted back into the structure that create bass smear and resulting in a lack of clarity and openness. You will hear the difference immediately. The Aperta with an overall size of (WxDxH) 6.1” x 7.5” x 3” or 15.5cm x 19cm x 7cm isn’t just one size fits all either. Specifically designed for use with bookshelf, desktop or floor standing speakers, they are available in different models to fit specific sizes and weights of medium-sized speakers. More than just a part of your home audio system, the Aperta also synchronizes with your equipment and furniture for a sleek package. In other words, it’s a sculptural design made to complement your speakers. Available in two finishes: aluminum and black and comes in three models: Aperta, Aperta 200 and Aperta 300.

Orea Series

The Orea series eliminates parasitic vibrations and provides greater sound clarity and focus. The OREA’s are ideal for electronic components including Amplifiers, DAC’s, CD Players, Speakers, and Turntables. Made of machined stainless steel, these isolators have a low-profile design to minimize any increase in height. Each OREA model is designed with a different weight capacity. They each have a coloured ring on the bottom isolator that denotes the model and weight capacity and they are packaged individually to allow greater flexibility when determining the number of units to use. Isoacoustics recommend a minimum of 3 units under each component, depending on weight. The upper flange of the OREA’s are designed to provide a suction cup like effect and adhere to the underside of the component, while the lower flange adheres to the supporting surface. All the energy is managed within the core of the OREA’s, which are tuned to work within specific weight ranges. This results in greater sound clarity and a more open soundstage providing authentic, three-dimensional sound.

GAIA Series

The GAIA isolators are machined units that incorporate IsoAcoustics’ patented design to provide a high degree of speaker isolation, while resisting lateral movement and oscillations, to maintain alignment with the listening position. Internal reflections from the hard supporting surface are attenuated resulting in greater sound clarity and openness. Optimal results are achieved by installing the GAIA isolators with the logo facing the listening position, or rotated 180 degrees, to align the isolators with the speaker’s motive forces.

GAIA Titan Series

Modern high end speakers are exotic and perform with great accuracy, providing punch without missing the most subtle details. Similar to performance tires on a race car, the GAIA-TITAN’s allow high end speakers to reach their full potential, delivering remarkable natural openness and clarity. The GAIA-TITAN series feature the same patented isolation technology as the original award winning GAIA series. The GAIA-TITAN series has 3 models with weight limits ranging from 320 lbs to 620 lbs.
