Three tiers, one philosophy

Founded in Malsch in 1986, AVM designs and hand-assembles every amplifier, streamer and CD player it makes in a single German factory, rather than spreading production across suppliers. The result is a line built around three tiers: Inspiration, Evolution and Ovation. All three share one engineering philosophy, analogue amplification paired with the streaming and digital sources a modern listening room actually uses. Nothing is outsourced, and nothing is decorative.

Questions about AVM

What is the difference between the Inspiration, Evolution and Ovation ranges?

They are AVM’s three tiers, in ascending order. Inspiration is built for compact, everyday living spaces; Evolution sits in the middle, with more power and a broader set of source options; Ovation is the flagship, extending from integrated amplifiers to separate pre- and power amplifiers for a dedicated listening room.

Are AVM amplifiers built for streaming, or for traditional sources like CD?

Both. AVM has built network streaming into its amplifiers since early in the line’s life, so an integrated model can take a stream and a CD transport through the same chassis. The older analogue and digital inputs are never dropped in favour of the newer ones.

Where is AVM made?

In Malsch, Germany, where AVM has hand-assembled every product since the company was founded in 1986. Design, engineering and final assembly all happen in the one factory.

Does AVM make separates as well as integrated amplifiers?

Yes. Alongside its integrated designs, the Ovation range extends to standalone preamplifiers and mono power amplifiers, for listeners building a fully separated system.
