The brief

The brief here was as much about how the system would look as how it would sound. The client wanted loudspeakers that would sit well with his wooden floor and wooden console. The Sonus Faber Sonetto V was chosen in walnut, matching the wood already in the room.

The living and dining areas are one large, combined space, which suits a floorstanding loudspeaker over a stand-mount. The Sonetto V is a three-way design built for that kind of scale, paired with AVM’s Evolution CS 3.3, an all-in-one streaming amplifier that combines amplification, a digital-to-analogue converter and network streaming, including AirPlay, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect, in a single chassis, delivering up to 350 watts per channel.

Chord Company cabling connects the CS 3.3 to the Sonetto V, keeping the signal chain to one standard from amplifier to loudspeaker.
