The brief

The room combines a home theatre and a karaoke suite in one space, designed with the architecture firm Sumisura from the earliest planning stage, including speaker placement, concealed wiring and the room’s acoustics.

Sonus Faber’s Olympica Nova range carries the system. A pair of Olympica Nova 5 floorstanding loudspeakers takes the front left and right channels, an Olympica Nova Center I sits between them for dialogue, and two Olympica Nova I bookshelf speakers cover the surrounds. Four in-ceiling speakers add the height channels, completing a 5.1.4 layout.

A karaoke system is integrated into the same room, its touch panel set within reach of the singer.

The picture comes from a Stewart Filmscreen ambient-light-rejecting screen paired with an Optoma ultra-short-throw laser projector, so the image holds up with the room’s own lighting on.
