One brand, every channel
This private cinema is fitted entirely with Sonus Faber, though not from a single range. The seven bed channels come from the Sonus Faber Sonetto collection, the speakers you actually see in the room, while the in-wall surrounds and in-ceiling height channels are drawn from Palladio, the maker’s custom-installation range built to disappear into a wall or ceiling. One maker throughout, with the range chosen for where each speaker has to live.
Sonetto III floorstanding speakers carry the front left and right channels, with a Sonetto Center II handling dialogue between them. A pair of Sonetto Wall on-wall speakers cover the side surrounds, and two Sonus Faber in-wall loudspeakers complete the back surrounds. Two Gravis II subwoofers take the low end, and four Palladio PC-562P in-ceiling speakers add the height channels overhead, completing a 7.2.4 layout for Dolby Atmos.
Running one maker across two ranges keeps the tonal signature intact from the visible speakers to the ones built into the fabric of the room, rather than trading it away for whichever product happens to fit the wall cavity. That matters more in a dedicated cinema, where every channel has to match, than in a general living space.
