Description
The Sevens II are powered stand-mount speakers with a 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch titanium tweeter on a Tractrix horn in each cabinet. Amplification, decoding and streaming are built in, and the pair needs only a television, a source or a phone to work.
They connect to the television over HDMI eARC, and an HDMI input lets a source pass through the pair. Dolby Atmos is played back using virtual height channels. Dirac Live room correction is included, with a calibration microphone in the box; you scan the room and the pair corrects for it. Streaming covers Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect, with Bluetooth 5.4 as well. Inputs include a phono stage for a turntable, coaxial and optical digital, and there is a subwoofer output.
Compared with the Fives II, the Sevens II have a larger woofer and deeper response, add Dirac Live, the calibration microphone, an HDMI input and a coaxial input. Compared with the Nines II, they are smaller and do not list DTS:X decoding. The pair can also be linked wirelessly for stereo, at 48kHz; a wired link keeps 96kHz/24-bit.
