Description
The Flexus Sub 200 is the larger of the two Flexus subwoofers. It has a 12-inch long-throw paper cone woofer in a sealed MDF cabinet, driven by a Class D amplifier, and is made for the Flexus Core soundbars (Core 100, Core 200 and Core 300). Klipsch states that Flexus subwoofers work only with the Flexus Sound System.
It connects to the bar over Klipsch Transport, a 2.4GHz wireless link, using the dongle supplied. The link is wireless, but the subwoofer still plugs into the mains. It also has an RCA/LFE line input, and on the Core 100 and Core 200 it can be wired from the bar’s Sub Out jack instead.
Against the Sub 100, the difference is the woofer and the cabinet: 12 inches rather than 10, in a 387mm cube weighing 16.3kg, where the Sub 100 measures 340 x 335 x 349mm and weighs 9.4kg. A Flexus system takes up to two wireless subwoofers, and Klipsch recommends two identical ones to smooth out the peaks and nulls a single sub produces in a room.
